Testing with integrity since 1991
Independent Air Flow Services was established in 1991 as a specialist air flow testing business, built on the principle that testing should be genuinely independent, free from any commercial relationship with equipment manufacturers, suppliers, or service companies. That principle remains the foundation of everything we do today.
We are a family-owned and operated business. Over more than three decades, we have built our reputation by providing technically rigorous, impartial testing to hospitals, pathology laboratories, university research facilities, and pharmaceutical manufacturers across Australia.
Every member of our team has been trained in the specific requirements of air flow testing for critical environments. We do not cut corners, and we do not issue certificates that are not supported by the data. When you receive a report from us, you can be confident that it accurately reflects the performance of your equipment on the day it was tested.
Our NATA accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025 is maintained through regular technical assessments and proficiency testing. This accreditation is not a marketing credential. It is the mechanism by which the accuracy and traceability of our measurements is verified by an independent authority, and it is what makes our certificates meaningful to regulators and auditors.

Director — Office & Client Services
Belinda oversees the day-to-day operations of Independent Air Flow Services, managing client relationships, scheduling, certification administration, and the smooth running of the business behind the scenes. Her attention to detail and commitment to service ensures that every client receives clear communication and documentation they can rely on.
David Hazell
Director — Technical Operations
David leads IAFS's team of technicians in the field, bringing decades of hands-on experience in air flow testing and contamination control to every engagement. He is responsible for the technical integrity of all testing work, ensuring that every measurement is accurate, every report defensible, and every certificate genuinely meaningful.

We sell, repair, and install parts — but those parts come from the manufacturers themselves; we make none of them. What makes us truly independent is that we are supplier-agnostic. We earn no extra commission for recommending one supplier's parts over another, so we always advise what we believe is genuinely best for the client.

Technical Rigour
Every test is conducted to the relevant Australian Standard or recognised technical guideline. We do not use shortcuts or simplified methods. Our instruments are calibrated to national standards, and our measurement uncertainty is documented and reported.

Reliable Availability
Critical facilities cannot always wait for a scheduled visit. We offer 24/7 emergency testing across everything we service — whatever the equipment or environment — wherever a failure or deficiency creates an immediate operational or compliance problem. We will respond.
